How we verify employers

Every employer must pass a manual review by a person on our team before it can publish jobs, search for candidates or send messages.

What we check

  1. The business is real and active. We look it up in the official state business registry (for California: the Secretary of State's bizfile Online).
  2. The website matches the business. The company domain must be consistent with the business name and email address.
  3. The person works there. A work email address on the company domain, or another proof we can confirm.
  4. Extra checks when needed. For example, we may call the company's publicly listed phone number.

We also run automatic checks (domain age, email domain, address, duplicates). They help our team, but a person makes every decision.

What "Verified Business" means

The badge means the company passed the checks above. It does not mean we guarantee every job. If something looks wrong, use Report this job. Reported companies are reviewed again and can be suspended.

Re-verification

Verified companies are checked again every 12 months, and sooner if the owner or domain changes or we receive reports.
